nvm significantly slows shell init — how to fix this?

If your OS supports preexec, edit your ~/.bashrc file

nvm supports many shells: bash, sh, dash, zsh, ksh, and ideally anything POSIX-compliant. The only thing you need to have installed to make it work is curl or wget. preexec isn't included in most shells by default.
